Memorial 
      The
memorial was originally erected 
      in 1922 in Douglas Gardens. The figure and panels are of bronze and the pedestal is of granite. The inscription reads:- 
      "In proud and loving memory of our men who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War. Nobly they kept alight the lamps of liberty."  |
